PennDOT Park Avenue (SR 743) - Chocolate Avenue (US 422) Project
Project Milestones
Overall, the project has progressed with the predominant amount of work having been completed on Chocolate Ave. (SR 0422) and Cocoa Ave. (SR 0743). It is anticipated that the project will be completed by the Summer of 2013. A more detailed breakdown of the upcoming project milestones is provided below:
• Park Ave. Pedestrian Tunnel - Construction of the pedestrian tunnel underneath relocated Park Ave. is anticipated to be substantially complete in Summer of 2013.
• New Bridge – Subsurface soil compaction in preparation for the bridge abutments is complete for both the north and south bridge abutments. The new bridge, associated retaining walls, and backfill have begun. Thereafter, the new roadway for relocated Park Ave. will be constructed. It is anticipated that traffic will switch over to the new Park Ave. roadway alignment in Summer 2013.
