Act 167 Countywide Watershed Management Plan for Venango County
Phase I - Scope of Study

Venango County, located in northwestern Pennsylvania, entered into an agreement with the Department of Environmental Protection of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the preparation of a Phase I – Scope of Study Act 167 Stormwater Management Plan.  Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) was contracted by the Venango County Regional Planning Commission to prepare the Phase I Report and facilitate the Phase I tasks. 

As part of Phase I, a Watershed Plan Advisory Committee (WPAC) was formed that consisted of all 31 municipalities within the county along with the Venango County Conservation District, the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council.  The WPAC provided a wealth of knowledge regarding stormwater issues that the county currently faces. 

During Phase II, the WPAC will continue to be an integral part of the team, providing solutions to many of these stormwater issues.  In addition, the WPAC will assist the municipalities in adopting the standards and provisions created during Phase II.
